Department of Translation

The Department of Translation at the College of Arts was established in 2007. It aims to be a distinguished and advanced department in all forms and types of translation, including scientific, journalistic, literary, and legal translation, as well as educational translation. The Department also focuses on keeping pace with scientific developments in translating research and conferences, applying translation to serve the academic mission of the university and other state institutions. Furthermore, it seeks to integrate all relevant sciences, knowledge, and modern technologies into the field of translation.

Vision

The Department of Translation envisions establishing graduate programs (Postgraduate Diploma, Master’s, and PhD) that are distinguished in their curricula and outputs, in line with the required standards in higher education and scientific research, both locally and internationally. These programs aim to align with various social and human sciences disciplines, fulfilling the needs of Iraqi society and all state institutions, while promoting high-quality teaching, learning, and research in a supportive environment for a better future in Iraq.
